    Quick Facts

    • Initial cohort includes 17 women founders.
    • Partnership includes UN Women and UNIDO.
    • The initiative is supported by the Canadian government.

A Collaborative Push for Economic Empowerment

The “Rabha” program is the result of a broad collaboration between Egyptian and international bodies. It is organized in partnership with UN Women, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the American University in Cairo’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The initiative also involves Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), with financial backing from the Government of Canada. This collective approach signals a coordinated strategy to provide comprehensive support for female entrepreneurs across different governorates.

    Specialized Training for Sustainable Growth

The program’s curriculum was designed to equip participants with essential business skills. The training featured specialized sessions covering core entrepreneurship concepts, financial planning, and effective marketing strategies.

In addition to technical business knowledge, the program also focused on developing personal skills to help the founders scale their projects and achieve long-term sustainability. The training concluded with a session attended by representatives from partner organizations and industry experts to evaluate the program’s immediate impact on the participants.

Mai Mahmoud of the National Council for Women emphasized the council’s commitment to making its training programs accessible to all women, including those with disabilities, to widen the beneficiary base and strengthen women’s role in the national economy.

    About The “Rabha” Program

“Rabha” is an initiative by Egypt’s National Council for Women designed to provide specialized training and support for female entrepreneurs. The program aims to foster economic empowerment by equipping women who own or plan to start projects with the necessary skills in business planning, finance, and marketing, in collaboration with national and international partners.
