Press release:
ABA Life, the healthcare arm of ABA Technology, has announced the signing of an investment agreement with Admaius Capital Partners (“Admaius”) for $40 million, subject to customary closing conditions and to clearance by the Competition Council of the Kingdom of Morocco. The transaction marks a major milestone in ABA Life’s growth and in its ambition to build, from Morocco, a healthtech champion with international reach.
Founded only five years ago, ABA Life has built an integrated and profitable model combining artificial intelligence, medical technology, telemedicine, connected health infrastructure and healthcare operations. Through large-scale programmes, notably in partnership with public institutions and foundations, the company has shown its ability to turn technological innovation into concrete solutions that widen access to care.
“AI for Sovereign Health”: accelerating innovation and scale
The investment will support a new phase of growth built around three priorities: accelerating the “AI for Sovereign Health” programme through Mediot AI and the development of clinical intelligence solutions; industrialising and deploying the Group’s healthcare technologies and services at scale; and accelerating expansion into international markets.
Building on its technology capabilities and operational experience, ABA Life intends to create a next-generation HealthTech platform combining artificial intelligence, medical innovation and operational excellence, with the ambition of building, from Morocco, one of the Kingdom’s next technology unicorns.
“In five years, we have shown that a profitable healthcare technology model, able to deploy at scale, can be built from Morocco. This funding marks the start of a new phase: acceleration and internationalisation. Our ambition is to make ABA Life a global healthtech reference and one of Morocco’s next unicorns. With AI for Sovereign Health, we want to develop a new generation of clinical intelligence in Morocco and take it to international markets,” said Mohamed Benouda, Founder and Chairman of ABA Technology.
“From our very first discussions, we were impressed by what ABA Life has built: an integrated healthcare operator combining medical devices, connected infrastructure, care operations and proprietary technology developed in Morocco. We are pleased to support Mohamed Benouda and his teams in this new phase of growth and international expansion,” said Selim Ettriqui, Head of Morocco and West Africa at Admaius Capital Partners.
“ABA Life has the qualities we look for in our investments: an ambitious entrepreneurial team, a proven business model, strong technology foundations and significant potential to scale. We are convinced of its ability to become an international healthtech reference and are pleased to support this ambition,” said Marlon Chigwende, Managing Partner at Admaius Capital Partners.
